What are your products made of?
PLA, a plant-based plastic made from corn starch. It is light, rigid, water resistant and durable in everyday use. The colour is in the material itself, so nothing chips or peels off.
What does made to order mean?
Nothing sits in a box waiting. When your order arrives I load the colour you picked, print your piece, clean it up by hand and pack it. That is why lead times are counted in days rather than hours.
How long until my order ships?
Within 1 to 5 business days. Larger pieces such as the Pug Chef holder sit at the longer end of that range: the figure is printed in several parts, each one takes hours on the printer, and then it is cleaned up and assembled by hand. If anything is going to take longer, I will email you.
Where do you ship?
Worldwide. Everything goes out from Richmond, British Columbia with Canada Post, and the rate for your address is calculated live at checkout, so you see the real cost before you pay. A handful of destinations sit outside the Canada Post network and will not return a rate - if that happens at checkout, email me and I will look for another way.
Will I pay customs or duties?
Not in the United States - duties are calculated and collected at checkout, so nothing is owed on delivery. Everywhere else outside Canada, import charges are set by your own country and are not included in what you pay here. Most orders of this size fall under the duty-free threshold.
How should I look after a 3D printed piece?
Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep it out of direct sunlight, and away from anything hot: a stove, an oven door, a kettle or an air fryer vent. PLA softens well below boiling point, so heat is the one thing that will deform a print. Nothing here is dishwasher safe or microwave safe.
Will I see the print layers?
Yes, and that is part of it. A 3D print carries fine horizontal lines the way a thrown pot carries rings. I orient each model so those lines follow the shape instead of fighting it. What you will not see is stringing, blobs or a collapsed layer - anything with those never leaves the studio.
Which bracelet size do I need?
Measure your hand, not your wrist - the cuff has to slide over your knuckles. There is a full guide with a size chart in the Journal.
Who makes all this?
One person. I design every model in 3D, print it here in Richmond, British Columbia, finish it by hand and ship it myself. There is no factory and no third party behind the shop.
Can I return something?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is on you unless the fault was mine. Full details are in the return policy.
Something arrived damaged
Email me a photo at orders@dukseldesign.com and I will sort it out. I handle these case by case, and it is usually a replacement.
