Every cuff I make is a rigid oval with an opening at the back. It slides over your hand, which means the measurement that matters is the width of your hand, not your wrist. Measuring the wrist is the single most common mistake, and it sends people a size too small almost every time.
What you need
- A flexible measuring tape, or a strip of paper and a ruler
How to measure
- Bring your thumb across until it touches your little finger, as if you were about to slide a cuff on.
- Wrap the tape around the widest part of your hand, across the knuckles and over the thumb joint.
- Keep it snug but not tight. Write down the number in centimetres.
- If you used paper, mark where the end overlaps, then lay the strip flat and measure it.
Find your size
The cuff sizes below describe the inner opening of the oval, width by height.
| Size | Cuff opening | Your hand measures |
|---|---|---|
| Tiny | 55 x 45 mm | up to 16 cm |
| Small | 60 x 50 mm | 16 to 17.5 cm |
| Medium | 65 x 55 mm | 17.5 to 19 cm |
| Large | 70 x 60 mm | 19 to 20.5 cm |
| Extra-Large | 75 x 65 mm | 20.5 to 22 cm |

If you fall between two sizes
Go up. A cuff that sits a little loose is comfortable all day. One that is a little tight is a fight to put on every morning, and forcing it stresses the print at the opening.
One thing worth knowing
These are printed cuffs, not elastic bangles. They flex slightly, but only slightly. Please do not force one over your hand.
